I said, I will take heed to my ways,
that I sin not with my tongue:
I will keep my mouth with a bridle,
while the wicked is before me. – Psalms 39:1

I am no preacher, but, am a prime sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, when I read “The Holy Bible” KJV, the following verses were given in the context of “bridle”.
2 Kings 19:28 Because thy rage against me and thy tumult
is come up into mine ears,
therefore I will put my hook in thy nose,
and my bridle in thy lips,
and I will turn thee back
by the way by which thou camest.
Job 30:11 Because he hath loosed my cord,
and afflicted me,
they have also let loose the bridle before me.
Job 41:13 Who can discover the face of his garment?
or who can come to him with his double bridle?
Psalms 32:9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule,
which have no understanding:
whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle,
lest they come near unto thee.
Psalms 39:1 I said, I will take heed to my ways,
that I sin not with my tongue:
I will keep my mouth with a bridle,
while the wicked is before me.
Proverbs 26:3 A whip for the horse,
a bridle for the ass,
and a rod for the fool’s back.
Isaiah 30:28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream,
shall reach to the midst of the neck,
to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity:
and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people,
causing them to err.
Isaiah 37:29 Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult,
is come up into mine ears,
therefore will I put my hook in thy nose,
and my bridle in thy lips,
and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious,
and bridleth not his tongue,
but deceiveth his own heart,
this man’s religion is vain.
James 3:2 For in many things we offend all.
If any man offend not in word,
the same is a perfect man,
and able also to bridle the whole body.
Revelation 14:20 And the winepress was trodden without the city,
and blood came out of the winepress,
even unto the horse bridles,
by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
