“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness,
and receive with meekness the engrafted word,
which is able to save your souls. ”
– Jam: 1:21
I am no preacher, but, am a sinner and living in this world in HIS mercy. For a sinner like me too, while reading Bible, the following verses were given in the context of “Wicked / Wickedness” in The New Testament, from The Holy Bible-KJV.
43. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man,
he walketh through dry places,
seeking rest,
and findeth none.
44. Then he saith, I will return into my house
from whence I came out;
and when he is come,
he findeth it empty,
swept, and garnished.
Mat-12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself
seven other spirits more wicked than himself,
and they enter in and dwell there:
and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
Mat-13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom,
and understandeth it not,
then cometh the wicked one,
and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.
This is he which received seed by the way side.
Mat-13:38 The field is the world;
the good seed are the children of the kingdom;
but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39. The enemy that sowed them is the devil;
the harvest is the end of the world;
and the reapers are the angels.
Mat-13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world:
the angels shall come forth,
and sever the wicked from among the just,
50. And shall cast them into the furnace of fire:
there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Mat-16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign;
and there shall no sign be given unto it,
but the sign of the prophet Jonas.
And he left them, and departed.
Mat-18:32 Then his lord, after that he had called him,
said unto him,
O thou wicked servant,
I forgave thee all that debt,
because thou desiredst me:
33. Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant,
even as I had pity on thee?
34. And his lord was wroth,
and delivered him to the tormentors,
till he should pay all that was due unto him.
Mat-21:41 They say unto him,
He will miserably destroy those wicked men,
and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen,
which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
17. Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
Mat-22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said,
Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
Mat-25:26 His lord answered and said unto him,
Thou wicked and slothful servant,
thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not,
and gather where I have not strawed:
27. Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers,
and then at my coming
I should have received mine own with usury.
28. Take therefore the talent from him,
and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29. For unto every one that hath shall be given,
and he shall have abundance:
but from him that hath not shall be taken away
even that which he hath.
30. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mar-7:22 Thefts, covetousness,
wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness,
an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23. All these evil things come from within,
and defile the man.
Luk-11:26 Then goeth he,
and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself;
and they enter in,
and dwell there:
and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Luk-11:39 And the Lord said unto him,
Now do ye Pharisees
make clean the outside of the cup and the platter;
but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
Luk-19:22 And he saith unto him,
Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee,
thou wicked servant.
Thou knewest that I was an austere man,
taking up that I laid not down,
and reaping that I did not sow:
23. Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank,
that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24. And he said unto them that stood by,
Take from him the pound,
and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
Act-2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel
and foreknowledge of God,
ye have taken,
and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24. Whom God hath raised up,
having loosed the pains of death:
because it was not possible
that he should be holden of it.
Act-8:22 Repent therefore
of this thy wickedness,
and pray God,
if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
Act-18:14 And when Paul was now about to open his mouth,
Gallio said unto the Jews,
If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness,
O ye Jews,
reason would that I should bear with you:
15. But if it be a question of words and names,
and of your law,
look ye to it;
for I will be no judge of such matters.
Act-25:5 Let them therefore, said he,
which among you are able,
go down with me,
and accuse this man,
if there be any wickedness in him.
28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,
God gave them over to a reprobate mind,
to do those things
which are not convenient;
Rom-1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness,
fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness;
full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30. Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful,
proud, boasters, inventors of evil things,
disobedient to parents,
31. Without understanding, covenantbreakers,
without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32. Who knowing the judgment of God,
that they which commit such things are worthy of death,
not only do the same,
but have pleasure in them that do them.
1Co-5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast,
not with old leaven,
neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness;
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
1Co-5:13 But them that are without God judgeth.
Therefore put away from among yourselves
that wicked person.
Eph-6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities,
against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph-6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench
all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Col-1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated
and enemies in your mind by wicked works,
yet now hath he reconciled.
2Th-2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed,
whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth,
and shall destroy
with the brightness of his coming:
9. Even him, whose coming is
after the working of Satan
with all power
and signs
and lying wonders,
10. And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness
in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth,
that they might be saved.
2Th-3:2 And that we may be delivered
from unreasonable and wicked men:
for all men have not faith.
2Pe-2:7 And delivered just Lot,
vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8. (For that righteous man dwelling among them,
in seeing and hearing,
vexed his righteous soul from day to day
with their unlawful deeds;)
9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver
the godly out of temptations,
and to reserve the unjust
unto the day of judgment
to be punished:
10. But chiefly them that walk after the flesh
in the lust of uncleanness,
and despise government.
Presumptuous are they, selfwilled,
they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
2Pe-3:17 Ye therefore, beloved,
seeing ye know these things before,
beware lest ye also,
being led away with the error of the wicked,
fall from your own stedfastness.
1Jo-2:13 I write unto you, fathers,
because ye have known him
that is from the beginning.
I write unto you, young men,
because ye have overcome the wicked one.
I write unto you, little children,
because ye have known the Father.
1Jo-2:14 I have written unto you, fathers,
because ye have known him
that is from the beginning.
I have written unto you, young men,
because ye are strong,
and the word of God abideth in you,
and ye have overcome the wicked one.
1Jo-3:12 Not as Cain,
who was of that wicked one,
and slew his brother.
And wherefore slew he him?
Because his own works were evil,
and his brother’s righteous.
1Jo-5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not;
but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself,
and that wicked one toucheth him not.
1Jo-5:19 And we know that we are of God,
and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
